HISLAC CI GIVES PRESTIGIOUS LECTURE

HiSLAC Chief Investigator, Julian Bion gave the prestigious George Whitfield Lecture to the West Midlands Physicians Association (WMPA) this week.

Professor Bion - who is Professor of Intensive Care Medicine at the University of Birmingham and a critical care consultant at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham – presented a talk entitled, ‘The Weekend Effect: Mortality, Morbidity and 7-Day Services’.

Founded in 1950, the WMPA holds twice yearly conferences for senior and junior doctors. The Autumn Meeting programme included invited lecturers, presentations of original research and discussions on case reports.
