CLOSING DATE FOR NATIONAL SURVEY

There’s just over one week to go until the closing date for the penultimate HiSLAC Point Prevalence Survey.

Consultants and associate specialists across England have been asked to complete the annual survey by Friday July 14. The short, anonymised questionnaire will help us examine nation-wide trends weekend-weekday specialist intensity and admission mortality.

Distributed via a senior consultant project lead in participating NHS Trusts, the web-based questionnaire takes less than two minutes to complete and aims to capture a snapshot of the number of consultants on duty on a reference Wednesday and Sunday each June. The information remains completely anonymous.

To give an accurate snapshot respondents are asked to contribute even if they were not present on those days.

As an additional incentive, all responses now count towards R&D accruals, so a greater response rate equates to more research funding for individual NHS Trusts.

This is our fourth, and penultimate, annual survey. Last year, we received more than 13,600 responses from 112 acute NHS Trusts
